Drawing from Red Hat and Salesforce.com Experience, Knight Aims to Help Businesses To Collect, Connect, and Analyze Data In Real-Time

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA (PRWEB) OCTOBER 20, 2016 — Treasure Data, a leading cloud platform to make all data connected, current and easily accessible, today announced the appointment of Ian Knight as Senior Vice President of Global Sales. Knight joins Treasure Data during sustained domestic and international growth, as the demand for combining multiple data sources across systems and making them actionable in real-time — both on-premises and in the cloud — has increasingly become a critical requirement in nearly every industry. Prior to joining Treasure Data, Knight held senior leadership roles at Red Hat, Salesforce, and Turbonomic.

In his new role, Knight will manage Treasure Data’s go-to market strategy to build awareness of Treasure Data’s offerings and scale a passionate, proactive global sales team.

“Tapping into my experience at Red Hat and Salesforce.com, as well as my passion for Open Source, I am excited to work with Treasure Data to help unleash the power of customer and product data across organizations,” said Knight. “Treasure Data has helped define this market, and will continue to shape it as access and analysis of live data permeates virtually all job roles and departments. The enthusiasm for the shared company mission and vision is contagious, and will certainly contribute to the creation of a powerhouse sales team to continue our trajectory of growth.”

Knight is an IT veteran with more than twenty five years’ experience in scaling enterprise sales organizations and driving open source adoption and commercialization. Knight’s prior experience includes a decade long tenure at Red Hat where he helped grow its subscription revenue from $84M to over $1.3B while serving in a variety of leaderships positions, including Vice President of Western US Sales. After Red Hat, he served as an Area Vice President at Salesforce helping customers leverage cloud computing agility and economics to drive customer success across sales, marketing, and customer service business processes.

“Bringing on a senior member with Ian’s pedigree and hands-on experience scaling sales teams and processes is a great advantage for Treasure Data,” said Hiro Yoshikawa, founder and CEO of Treasure Data. “Most importantly, having someone like Ian on board who truly understands our Open Source roots and embraces the needs of the market will only help us further democratize data management outside the IT department – and boost the business performance of our customers.”
