In this Privacy Statement, a reference to “Treasure Data”, “us” or “we” is a reference to Treasure Data, Inc. and its relevant subsidiary(ies) involved in the processing of information related to identified or identifiable individuals (“personal data”) described in this Privacy Statement.

What does this Privacy Statement cover

This Privacy Statement describes how we collect, use, share and otherwise process your personal data in the context of:

  • your interactions with this website or other Treasure Data’s digital properties that refer to this Privacy Statement (collectively and each of them, “Website”);
  • Treasure Data’s marketing, sales and advertising practices;
  • the operation of our data processing platform and training portal;
  • other activities outlined below (see How We Collect Data About You).

This Privacy Statement does not apply to the extent we process personal data in the role of a “processor” or “service provider” on behalf of our business customers. We make available a Customer Data Platform (“CDP”) to our business customers that they can use to process data, including personal data, for their own benefit. This Privacy Statement does not apply to any data that our customers submit to our CDP service. Our obligations in respect of such data are governed by our agreement with the relevant customer and are subject to applicable law. For information related to how our customers use Treasure Data’s products and services in the capacity of a “controller”, please contact our customers directly.

This Privacy Statement does not apply to personal data we collect from individuals who have applied to a job at Treasure Data or have expressed an interest in it. The processing of such personal data of candidates and prospective candidates is described in the Treasure Data Candidate Privacy Statement.

This Privacy Statement does not apply to personal data related to Treasure Data’s employees and contractors that Treasure Data processes in the context of its activities as the employing organization.

Responsible Treasure Data entity

Treasure Data, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries are responsible for the processing of your personal data described in this Privacy Statement and, unless specified otherwise, act as the “controller(s)” of such personal data. Our Website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, services, social networks, or applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow the third party to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites or services and we are not responsible for their data processing activities. We encourage you to read the applicable privacy policy of every website you visit.



Personal data about you that we may collect and process includes the following:

  • identifiers and contact information, such as name, account name, password, signature, email address, telephone number, postal address, medical information you provide us;

  • internet and other electronic network activity, such as IP address, information about usage of our products or services which may qualify as personal data, information about your device and your usage of our Website which may qualify as personal data, information about your interactions with our Website, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, methods used to browse away from the page;

If we need to collect and process personal data by law, or under a contract we have entered into with you, and you fail to provide the required personal data when requested, we may not be able to perform our contract with you.

  • To any member of our corporate group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, and our affiliates. Our personnel will only access the information to the extent necessary to perform their job;

Promotional Offers. If you do not want us to use your email address/contact information to promote our own products and services, you can opt out by checking the relevant box located on the form where we collect your data, or by following the opt-out instructions in the marketing email, or you can use at any time this Data Subject Request Form. This opt-out does not apply to information provided to Treasure Data a result of a product purchase, warranty registration, product service experience, or other transactions. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. If we deidentify personal data to anonymize it, we will maintain this deidentification, we will not attempt to reidentify it to link it to an individual, and we will require any business partners, suppliers, service providers, sub-contractors, and other third parties we use to support our business to do the same.


We do not direct our Website to minors and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 or as defined by local legal requirements. if we learn we have mistakenly or unintentionally collected or received personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.


A. Your rights.

Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal data conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Where we process your personal data based on legitimate interests, you can object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will cease processing your personal data unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or where it is needed for legal reasons.

A. Disclosures.
The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CCPA”) requires businesses subject to it that collect personal data of California residents to make certain disclosures regarding how they collect, use, and disclose such personal data.

The categories of personal data and the sources from which we collect personal data are described in Sections 1, 2 and 3 above. We collect personal data identified in this Privacy Statement for the purposes set forth in Section 4 above and disclose it to third parties as outlined in Section 5 above. In the last 12 months, we may have collected these categories of personal data from you, used and disclosed it as described in this Privacy Statement.

We do not sell your personal data in the conventional sense. However, the CCPA’s statutory definition of the term “sale” is broad and may include in certain circumstances the making available to third parties of personal data (such as data collected through cookies or similar technologies) without any monetary consideration. We “sell” or “share” for cross-context behavioral advertising (as these terms are intended under the CCPA) your personal data consisting of online identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity information to or with third parties advertising-related technology providers. In the last 12 months, we may have “sold” and “shared” it as described in this paragraph.

Some of the personal data about you listed in Section 1 above that we may collect and process are considered “sensitive” under the CCPA, namely: account log-ins (user names and passwords) and medical information concerning a consumer’s health. We do not “sell” or “share” (as these terms are defined under the CCPA) such sensitive personal information. We only use and disclose it for the limited purposes permitted under the CCPA and not for the purposes of inferring characteristics about a consumer. In particular, we use account log-ins to authenticate your identity and for security purposes and we use information health-related information that you provide us for managing access to our offices.

The CCPA gives California residents the right to make the following requests with regard to the information we collect about them: the right to request a copy of personal data we collected or disclosed for a business purpose over the past 12 months; the right to request deletion of personal data we collected, subject to certain exemptions; the right to know about the personal data we collect about them and how it is used or shared; the right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of their personal data; the right to request that we restrict the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to that which is necessary for certain specified purposes permitted under the CCPA; the right to non-discrimination for exercising their CCPA rights and the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data. Our obligation to afford you these rights or provide notifications to you, however, are subject to any contrary laws, rules, or law enforcement demands.

When we receive one of the requests listed above, Treasure Data will verify your identity by determining if the information you submit matches our records before we fulfill the request. An authorized agent or conservator seeking to exercise rights on behalf of an individual California resident must also provide proof of the agent’s or conservator’s authority to act for the California resident, as well as proof of the agent’s or conservator’s own identity. The information you provide us for identify verification will not be further disclosed, retained longer than needed for verification purposes, or used for unrelated purposes.

You can opt out of the use of cookies on our sites that may entail a “sale” or “sharing” of your personal data under the CCPA by clicking the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link on our homepage and setting your preferences accordingly. You will need to set your preferences from each device and each web browser from which you wish to opt out.
